Franklinton Gardens began as an outreach effort to bring healthy, fresh produce to lower-income families in the neighborhood and established themselves as an official non-profit organization in 2009. Co-founder, Patrick Kauffman, approached me to design their logo, explaining that he wanted something that looked rustic, similar to a woodcut print, and he supplied me with images from books and websites for inspiration. I began by creating a number of sketches which I presented to Patrick. After we agreed on bits and pieces from the assortment, I scanned a final, finished drawing to create a digital image which I cleaned up and added type to in Photoshop. This logo is still used today in all of their digital and print marketing.
